French Derby: podcast preview

With just 48 to go until the Prix du Jockey Club – aka the French Derby, run at Chantilly over a distance 1.5 furlongs shorter than the Epsom equivalent – The AntePoster's James Robson and Daniel Morgan throw a spotlight on this daunting 18-horse field.

The team look at the leading form contenders – all coming out of the French 2000 Guineas run at Longchamp three weeks aga – before turning their attention to the other foreign raiders as well as the home nation's other leading hopes led by a Godolphin/Fabre/Buick colt going for his fourth successive victory. They then briefly touch on the numerous outsiders in a contest where almost half the field are trading at 25-1 or more. Two unfancied colts in particular catch Daniel's eye.
