Racing podcast: Coral Eclipse and Prix Jean Prat

ree

Flat racing fans can look forward to two big Group 1 races this weekend, and The AntePoster's James Robson and Daniel Morgan debate the key contenders in the the light of their prices in the betting markets.

This side of the English Channel, the Coral Eclipse at Sandown features a field short on quantity but absolutely huge on quality. Ombudsman looms large in the betting, but he is value at such a short price? Is the crack French horse Sosie too big a price? Meanwhile, the pair have very different views on the Ballydoyle pair, Delacroix and Camille Pissarro. A match bet is placed between the two on which of those comes out on top...

Over in France, a field of nine are set to contest the Prix Jean Prat over 7 furlongs at the chic French seaside resort of Deauville. Shadow of Light and Cosmic Year would appear to give the raiders from England a strong hand, but the home nation has a couple of big cards of its own to play in Maranoa Charlie and Woodshauna. By contrast, Irish representative The Lion In Winter has it all to prove.

Most interestingly of all, the skies are set to darken dramatically over Deauville tonight, so the ground could be set to change radically.
